Foot Notes

|
A lot of men think dry and cracked feet are just an inevitable part of aging. But we're here to tell you how to get your kickers ready for summer, or for selling pics online if that's your thing... |
THE HEEL DEAL
Tight shoes, standing all day, and even walking barefoot: your feet go through a lot of stress throughout the day, so no wonder it takes a toll. Here's what to do.
Do your heels look like a desert landscape? Dry white skin or even cracks running down the back? A lot of men have just accepted this as part of aging, but it doesn't have to be.
If your skin is only lightly cracked, a quick chemical exfoliation using The Ordinary's glycolic acid should do the trick (considering how often we recommend this product, we really should make our own... much to consider). Glycolic acid also does wonders for smelly feet, by the way...
If it's more of a trench warzone around your heels, head to the nearest pharmacy and pick up a strong (10% or more) urea moisturizer for feet. Cake on a thick layer before bed and put on some socks to seal it all in. Wake up with baby feet.... Though if your case is severe it may take a few treatments; consider throwing in some glycolic acid first too.
HAND CREAM, FOR FEET?
While the skin on your hands and feet is quite different, a lot of the stressors we expose it to are similar. So if you just want some moisture...
Our hand cream UPPER HAND is an excellent choice. The intense moisturizing formula delivers rich hydration to your skin, cuticles, and nails (turns out you have those on your feet too). For an extra boot, apply at night and seal it in with socks.
As a rule of thumb, clean feet = healthy skin. So be sure to regularly wash (especially between your toes) with LE POEME DU CORPS. You could even try applying some ASH Scrub on your heels too. The sky is the limit, my king.

CALLOUS EMERGENCY CARE
Loyal narcycisst readers may remember our letter on hand care from a few months back, so here is quick reminder for a trick for calloused feet.
The Urea found in the foot cream recommended above is a wonderful and versatile ingredient, if you have some stubborn callusing on your feet the best solution won't be found in the beauty aisle... Instead head on over to the pharmacy a hardware store and look for O'keefes working-feet cream. Follow the instructions and watch callouses dissolve overnight.
